![]() The RobotCub project is a research initiative in embodied cognition that will create and exploit a 54 degree-of-freedom humanoid robot. This humanoid - iCub - is currently being designed and the final platform will be made freely available to the scientific community through the GNU public license (GPL). This project encapsulates a research agenda in cognitive systems that is based on the co-developmental learning through embodied physical interaction: exploration, manipulation, imitation, and communication. This agenda borrows heavily from experience in developmental psychology and cognitive neuroscience. The robot's cognitive architecture, a distributed and platform independent software framework, will also be available under the GPL . People: Harold Martinez Rolf Pfeifer Available student projects: pdf Build a real time tracking system (Msc. Thesis/ Phd. Internship) pdf Build a real time stereo algorithm (Msc. Thesis/ Phd. Internship)
