Research

My specific research interest focuses on tools and paradigms facilitating mass and open innovation (other buzzwords include crowdsourcing, open source, lead user etc.), customer-driven innovation, distributed co-creation (using "collective intelligence" paradigms), soft gates and the like, specifically in two domains: corporate R&D and basic research (as conducted at not-for-profit universities).

I am very interested in understanding how intelligence research can inform management theories (especially new innovation paradigms) by applying rules (e.g., swarm behavior) and design principles from AI (e.g., three constituents, motivated complexity, cumulative selection) to organizational contexts.

My broader interest lies at the interface between business and technology: requirements management, technology push vs. market pull product development and similar.
